What Is a Live Casino Game?
A live casino game is a casino game that is streamed in real time from a studio or a casino floor. Instead of software deciding the result, a real dealer handles the cards, spins the wheel, or rolls the dice on camera. Every action happens live and is sent straight to your screen, while you place your bets from your own device. The dealer deals, spins, and often talks to you as you play, which gives the game the feel of a real table.
That is what makes a game “live”: a real person, real equipment, and a real outcome that you watch happen. Nothing is animated and nothing is decided behind the scenes.
The older counterpart is the RNG game. RNG stands for Random Number Generator: software that makes every spin or card random. You find it in online slots or video roulette, for example. These games are fair, but they often feel static. You watch an animated table with virtual cards or a wheel while the software picks the outcome. It was the standard before live streaming made a real dealer possible, and it is still common today.

How We Review Games
We score every game the same way. We rate it on four categories and combine them into one score out of 10:
- Dealer and studio (15%)
- Game math, payouts, and fairness (35%)

Each category is built from smaller points, and each point gets its own score. Some points are fact-based, which means we can measure them. The RTP of a game is one example. Other points are expert judgement, based on what we notice while we play. How often the big wins really fall is one example. We only score games we have tested ourselves, and we review a game again when the provider updates it.
Game Categories
Live casino games fall into a handful of categories. In some, like blackjack and live poker, your own choices change the result. In others, like roulette, baccarat, and the game shows, you place a bet and wait for the outcome. Below we explain each category, what sets it apart, and what you will find within it.
Live Roulette
Roulette is a wheel game. You place your bet, the dealer spins the wheel, and where the ball lands decides the result. Once your bet is placed you make no further decisions, which keeps it close to baccarat and the game shows rather than to blackjack.
Some live roulette games are classic roulette, with nothing added: you bet, the wheel spins, and that is the game. Others add something on top, such as faster rounds, close-up cameras, or multipliers. Live Game Shows
A live game show turns a casino game into a television show, with a host who presents each round. You place a simple bet on the outcome, and the round plays out as a show. Most game shows are built around a wheel: the host spins a large money wheel, and you bet on where it stops. But there are more types than that:
- Bingo-style shows, where a machine draws numbered balls and you complete lines on your cards.
- Dice-style shows, where one or more dice decide the outcome.

Live Blackjack
Blackjack is a card game where your own choices affect the result. You decide when to hit, stand, split, or double, and a live dealer deals the cards while you play from your own device. This makes blackjack one of the few live categories where your decisions change the outcome. Live blackjack comes in three types:
- Seat-based tables, with a set number of seats where you play your own hand.
- Unlimited tables, where everyone plays one dealer hand at the same time, so there is no seat to wait for.

Live Slots

Live Poker
Poker in a live casino works differently from the poker you may know. You do not play against other players and there is no bluffing. Instead you play against the house: you place your bet, the cards are dealt, and if your hand is strong enough you win. Live poker comes in three types:
- Games where you and the dealer share cards on the table. You decide whether to keep going as the shared cards appear.
- Games where you get your own hand and no shared cards. You judge whether your hand is strong on its own, then choose to carry on or fold.

Baccarat is a card game between two hands, the Player and the Banker. You bet on which hand comes closest to a value of nine. It is the simplest of the card games to bet on, which is much of its appeal.
Some live baccarat games are the classic game, with nothing added. Others add something on top. Faster versions deal more hands per hour. Some use close-up cameras and a slow card reveal. 1. Funky Time Live
Funky Time Live from Evolution is my absolute favorite, not so much because of the always enjoyable excitement of a spinning money wheel, but mainly because of the fantastic bonus games.
Especially DISCO and VIP DISCO, where a virtual dancer with a DJ determines the multiplier. And also Staying Alive, a bonus game where choosing the right color ball determines the height of the multiplier.
I get a smile on my face every time the Disco bonus is spun and the music starts. Sitting still becomes much harder for me. I find this game so amazing.
2. Crazy Time
I was lucky to see Crazy Time for the first time at the ICE exhibition in London in January 2020. I was immediately captivated by this fantastic game.
What I love about Crazy Time is that it has everything. It is fast, with each round lasting about 30 to 40 seconds. It has four bonus games. And the multipliers can climb very high, which leads to big prizes.
Additionally, it’s an inexpensive game to play with a low minumum bet. By now, 3 bonus games have gotten their own game. That says enough about the game’s popularity. Also, the Crazy Time RTP is very acceptable.
3. Mega Fire Blaze Roulette
After Lightning Roulette, I thought roulette could not get more exciting. Then I played Mega Fire Blaze Roulette for the first time.
It’s a similar idea with extra multipliers in a roulette game, but combined with the fun bonus game from the Fire Blaze slot machine. Every round, I’m on edge, wondering if my number will be chosen for the Fire Blaze bonus game.
4. MONOPOLY Big Baller
I really like MONOPOLY Big Baller because it brings two games together. It mixes bingo, with balls being drawn, and the bonus game from MONOPOLY Live.
The big difference from the original bonus game is that you get three or five rolls on the board instead of two or four. That gives you more chances to reach the high multipliers, and that is what makes this game exciting for me.
5. Sweet Bonanza Candyland
