E-wallets have been associated with online casinos since the early 2000s, and they continue to be one of the most trusted, reliable, and secure ways to top-up a casino balance or take home your winnings. However, while you’re likely to be familiar with the top dogs, like Neteller, Skrill, PayPal and others, Luxon Pay represents the new kid on the block.

It’s only been around for a few years, and its client base is petite, but Luxon Pay is growing. While there aren’t too many online casinos currently offering its services, that may change. What is it about Luxon Pay that is appealing, and what sets it apart from the many (and we do mean many) other e-wallets you can choose at online casinos?

Join us as we explore Luxon Pay and explain how you can get started with Luxon Pay and why you’d want to when playing at online casinos today.

About Luxon Pay

Luxon Pay is a UK-based payment provider that first came to our attention in 2018. It is a multi-currency digital wallet capable of processing global transactions in various currencies from over a hundred countries. Luxon Pay also has dedicated apps available in Google Play and the App Store, so mobile casino gamers can get in on the action with ease, too.

Luxon Pay prefers simplicity and security when it comes to depositing at casinos. While licensed as an e-money institution, Luxon Pay also operates as a financial gateway, allowing you to fund your account through bank cards, rival e-wallets and options which include Przelewy24, Multibanco, TrustPay, Boleto and others. This is particularly handy, as these options may not necessarily be available at your online casino by default, but through Luxon Pay, you can still use them.

As an e-wallet, Luxon Pay permits you to open an account with them and then deposit (using alternative options) to fund your account. You can then use your funded Luxon Pay account to deposit (and withdraw) at casinos, much as you can with any other e-wallet provider.

Target Markets

Obviously, being based in the United Kingdom means that many Luxon Pay users are from the UK. However, Luxon Pay is active in over a hundred countries, with sizable user bases in Germany, India, Russia, and the United States. While mainstream UK casinos, sportsbooks and British gaming brands are affiliated with Luxon Pay, many casinos supporting it for players in other countries tend to be “offshore casinos”, often licenced in Curacao.

While the number of casinos offering Luxon Pay remains small, the payment provider has recently broadened its visibility by sponsoring numerous poker championships. The extra publicity should help it expand to additional online casinos soon.

As for currencies, you can expect to find a dozen or so accepted. Luxon Pay can currently process transactions via GBP, EUR, USD, DKK, CHF, CAD, NOK, PLZ, RUB, SEK, AUD, HKD, JPY, NZD, and BRL.

Luxon Pay Account

Opening a Luxon Pay account is your first step to using this payment provider. First, head to Luxon.com and use the “Sign up” button to start. Complete the e-form, enter your mobile phone number, and verify your new account via the SMS you receive. You’ll then be required to enter your personal details, add an e-mail address, and create a password.

Once your Luxon Pay account has been created, you can hit the “Deposit” button and fund your account using VISA, Mastercard, Trustly, popular digital wallets, and other payment providers.

There’s typically a minimum deposit limit of €50, even €1,000 via bank transfers. Withdrawals must be worth at least €20. Deposit and withdrawal caps vary based on your account and status. These limits clearly earmark Luxon Pay as something of an e-wallet of choice for high-rolling players.

How to Deposit with Luxon Pay

To deposit at a casino, head to your chosen site’s cashier page, and select Luxon Pay. Enter the figure you wish to deposit, bearing in mind the casino’s deposit limits. You’ll be redirected to your Luxon Pay wallet, where you can confirm and complete the transaction as prompted. You’ll then be redirected back to the cashier, and your casino deposit should arrive instantly in your account. Luxon Pay will notify you if your deposit was successful as a security measure.

How to Withdraw with Luxon Pay

Cashing out your winnings shouldn’t be a hurdle. For the most part, you merely need to use the same process as you did for depositing, albeit selecting “Withdrawals” first. Cashouts from your casino should be free of charge and can take up to 48 hours if you haven’t completed the casino’s KYC process.

Transfer Times, Fees, and Security

Luxon Pay deposits are typically processed instantly. Withdrawal times vary, though. Casinos have their own transaction times for Luxon Pay withdrawals (often 1-2 days) while withdrawing from Luxon Pay to a bank can take 24 hours or so if you’ve verified your account details.

Luxon Pay doesn’t charge a penny if you top-up your balance via bank transfers, but a currency exchange cost of 3% (2% for Classic VIPs, 1% for Premium members and none for Noir accounts) can be expected.

Withdrawals from Luxon Pay to another payment option do cost, though, with fees between €10 and €20, based on the bank you use. Casinos themselves seldom charge fees for using Luxon Pay.

As for security, Luxon Pay is regulated in the United Kingdom and received authorisation to process financial transactions by the FCA in 2019.
