What Is Live Blackjack?
Live Blackjack is Evolution‘s standard version of blackjack, without free bets, multipliers, or bonus rounds. It is the base game that variants such as Free Bet Blackjack and Blackjack Party are built on.
The game is played with eight decks and seven seats. You aim to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. You can hit, stand, split, and double down. Blackjack pays 3:2, the dealer stands on all 17s, and the dealer busts on 22.
Two side bets are available. Perfect Pairs pays when your first two cards are a pair. 21+3 pays when your two cards and the dealer’s up card form a poker hand.
If all seven seats are taken, you can use Bet Behind to place a bet on the hand of a seated player. Cash Out lets you take a payout on your hand before the round ends, for less than the full win. Insurance is offered when the dealer shows an Ace.
The pace is slower than at tables such as Lightning Blackjack. There are no multipliers or bonus features.
How to Play Live Blackjack
Place the Bet
Click or tap on your chips to place the bet. The betting window is 14 seconds, so you’ll have plenty of time to decide whether to go above the minimum bet or play it safe this time.
Receive the Cards
The dealer takes the cards and deals two face down to each position on the table. They also deal cards to themselves, one upcard and the other face down.
Take Action
Decide whether to Hit, Stand, Double or Split based on the situation on the table. Don’t rush your decision; Live Blackjack is fast, but it plays at a slower pace than Speed Blackjack.
Win the Round
If your hand beats the dealer’s, you’ll be paid according to the standard 3:2 paytable. If it doesn’t, you lose the round and the next betting phase starts immediately.

Side Bets in Live Blackjack

Perfect Pairs
Perfect Pair side bet wins if your initial deal consists of two cards with the same value. It can be a pair of 3s, Qs, or Aces; it doesn’t matter so long as they fall into one of three categories:
- Perfect Pair: Paired cards of the same suits (eg, two Ks of spades).
- Colored Pair: Paired cards of different suits but the same colors (eg, two red 10s, one diamond and another heart).
- Mixed Pair: Paired cards of different suits and different colors (eg. two 6s, one spade and another heart.
They each pay differently. Perfect Pair pays the highest, 25:1. Colored and Mixed pay 12:1 and 6:1, respectively.
21+3
The 21+3 side bet takes your initial deal and combines it with the dealer’s upcard to form a hand. You’ll win if the three cards form any of the five following hands.
- Suited Trips: Three cards of the same rank and the same suit (eg, three Qs of clubs)
- Straight Flush: Three consecutive cards of the same suit (eg. 9, 10, and J, all hearts)
- Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank but different suits (eg, three 5s of different suits)
- Straight: Three consecutive cards of different suits (eg, 6, 7, and 8 of different suits)
- Flush: Three cards of the same suit, no matter the sequence (eg, 3, 7, and Q of spades)
Again, the payout differs based on the strength of the hand. Suited Trips pay the highest (100:1), while Flush pays the lowest at 5:1.
Bet Behind
Given that the game features seven tables rather than an infinite format, this opens the possibility of betting on other players. The Bet Behind in Live Blackjack takes the classic format: see who’s hot at the moment and back them up to win the next round. Simple as.
