What’s My Opinion on Lightning Dice?
I have always enjoyed dice games, although Craps is still my personal favourite. Lightning Dice is much simpler, but Evolution has done a good job of making something as basic as rolling three dice entertaining. The Lightning Tower looks great, the rounds move quickly, and waiting to see which bets receive a multiplier adds excitement before every roll.
During my earlier sessions, I saw some impressive multipliers appear, including very high ones, but never managed to combine one with the winning total. That changed in my latest test. I had €0.40 on total 4 when it received a 250x multiplier — and the dice actually landed on 4, returning €100.
That win changed my opinion of the game’s big-win potential. A 1,000x maximum sounds impressive on paper, but actually experiencing a 250x hit showed me how much a single Lightning result can change a session. Of course, it doesn’t change the odds, and these hits remain difficult to land.
Lightning Dice still wouldn’t be my first choice for a long casino session. There aren’t many betting options compared with games such as Sic Bo, and there are no Bonus games. But for a fast, straightforward live game with the possibility of a substantial multiplier win, I enjoy it more than I did when I first reviewed it.
Expert View: Lightning Dice succeeds because it keeps the basic dice game extremely simple while adding genuine big-win potential.
