Race Track has an optimal RTP of 96.00%, which qualifies for our highest score in this category.

While 96.00% is lower than the RTP of games such as European Roulette or optimal blackjack, it is still a solid return for this type of fast-paced RNG game. More importantly, our rating uses a fixed scoring system: any game with an optimal RTP of 96.00% or higher receives 10/10.

Evolution lists an optimal RTP of 96.00%. The different racers have different winning probabilities and payouts, but we have found no indication that choosing a favourite or outsider gives you a significantly worse theoretical return. This makes the betting structure appear very consistent.

Race Track offers much lower win potential than most modern Evolution games. The payouts vary depending on the strength of the racer, with favourites paying as little as 1:1 and the biggest outsider offering a maximum payout of 89:1.

There are no multipliers or bonus features that can push a win into the hundreds or thousands of times your bet. An 89:1 payout is still attractive for such a simple racing game, but compared with the big-win potential available elsewhere in Evolution’s portfolio, we find it rather limited.

Race Track is extremely fast and easy to play. Changing line-ups and odds give you something to consider before each bet, while the statistics add an extra layer of information. However, the actual gameplay remains fairly shallow because ultimately you are only predicting which racer will win.

Race Track is quite limited when it comes to bonus features. There are no traditional bonus rounds, multipliers, or special features that can suddenly increase your payout.

The changing line-ups and odds, All Horses statistics, Tipster’s Choice, and Dinosaur Mode add some variety, but they do not change the basic gameplay very much.

We like the simplicity, but compared with other modern Evolution games, Race Track feels fairly basic in this area.

Race Track feels genuinely different from the usual roulette, blackjack and money-wheel releases. Evolution has effectively turned virtual racing into a fast live casino game, complete with changing runners, odds, statistics and optional live presentation.

The interface works well and makes Race Track easy to play. The six racers, their payouts, and the betting options are clearly displayed, while the statistics provide extra information without making the screen feel too crowded.

During our tests, we had no trouble placing or changing bets and following the result. There is nothing outstanding or particularly innovative about the interface, but it does everything it needs to do well.

Race Track is very easy to understand from the first race. The six betting spots clearly show the available racers and payouts, while the statistics are optional rather than essential. Even players with no experience of horse-race betting should quickly understand what they need to do.

Race Track itself works well on mobile. The race is easy to follow, the six betting options are clear enough to use on a smaller screen, and we had no problems placing our bets during our tests.

The main drawback is the live host window, which becomes extremely small on a smartphone. The presenter is almost invisible, taking away much of the point of having a live host in the first place. It does not hurt the actual gameplay, but it does make the live experience noticeably weaker than on desktop.

During our test sessions, we experienced no delays, freezes, or other technical hiccups. The races ran smoothly, results appeared correctly, and the game moved quickly from one round to the next.

However, we only completed two relatively short test sessions, which is not enough to judge the game’s long-term stability. Until we have tested Race Track more extensively, we feel 8.5 is a fair and safe score.

The live host is present throughout the game, but the presentation is not particularly enthusiastic or engaging. To be fair, Race Track is probably a difficult game to present, as the host has little to do once the race starts.

We think live commentary during the actual race could add much more excitement and give the host a more meaningful role. As it stands, this feels like one of the less interesting Evolution games for a presenter to host.

The Race Track studio does its job, but we are not particularly impressed by the overall presentation. The retro arcade-style setting fits the racing concept, but compared with Evolution’s best live productions, it feels rather basic and lacks the visual impact we have come to expect from the provider.

The focus is clearly on the virtual race rather than an elaborate studio environment. That works for the game, but we think Evolution can do much better when it comes to production and atmosphere.
