Update July 2026

Although Evolution still lists Video Poker Live as part of its portfolio, the live dealer version appears to have become largely unavailable at online casinos. At the time of writing, most operators only offer First Person Video Poker. This makes it very difficult or impossible to access the original live version for most players.

What is Video Poker Live?

Video Poker Live is a live casino version of classic video poker, created by Evolution. It was the first live video poker game on the market.

In the game, the dealer gives you five real cards. You decide which to keep and which to change, just like in regular video poker.

What makes it unique is that you can play up to 100 hands in one round, all based on your main hand. You can also switch between different paytables, making the game fresh and giving many ways to play.

The game shows your winning hands, how often they hit, and the payout for each. Results use color codes so you can read them fast.

“I like the freedom to pick a paytable for my mood. When I want simple play, I choose Jacks or Better.

When I want more volatility and big four of a kind payouts, I switch to Double Double Bonus.

The live dealer and retro look keep it social and fun, even when I only play a few hands.”

Gameplay in Video Poker Live

Video Poker Live is easy to follow and feels exciting because it mixes classic video poker with live-dealer action. Here’s how it works step by step.

Choose Your Paytable

At the start, you pick one of five game versions:

  • Jacks or Better
  • Tens or Better
  • Deuces Wild
  • Bonus Poker
  • Double Double Bonus

Each version pays different amounts for winning hands. You can choose the one you like best.

Select How Many Hands to Play

You can play 1 hand or up to 100 hands at the same time.
No matter how many you choose, the game first deals one main hand. This is the hand you use to decide which cards to keep.

Receive Your Main Hand

The dealer gives you five real cards from a real deck.
You look at them and choose which cards to hold and which ones to replace.
The cards you keep apply to all the hands you are playing.

Final Draw

After you choose your cards, the game replaces the other cards:

  • The main hand gets new cards from the real deck.
  • Every extra hand gets new cards from a virtual deck based on the remaining 47 cards.

Each hand can win separately, so even if your main hand loses, the other hands might still pay.

Payout Tables

As a player, you’ll be spoiled for choice with not just one, but five different video poker paytables. You can switch between them in every game round.
