Quick Summary

  • Bac Bo is Evolution’s simple mix of Baccarat and a dice game. Player and Banker each get two dice, and the side with the highest total wins.
  • There are only three bets: Player, Banker, and Tie. Player and Banker both pay 1:1, while Tie payouts depend on the final totals.
  • Player and Banker offer an excellent 98.87% RTP, making them the best-value bets in the game.
  • The Tie bet can pay up to 88:1. The highest payout applies when both sides finish with a total of 2 or 12.
  • The four dice stop one by one rather than all at once. This builds tension because the final die can still turn a losing position into a win or Tie.
  • Expert view: Bac Bo is fast, original, and extremely easy to play. I particularly like the 98.87% RTP, although only three betting options mean it can become repetitive during longer sessions.

How We Scored This Game

8.0/10
10.0

Optimal RTP (fact-based)

Bac Bo performs extremely well here. The optimal RTP is 98.87%, which applies to both the Player and Banker bets. Evolution confirms this figure in its official factsheet.

That corresponds to a house edge of only 1.13%, which is very competitive for a live casino game. There is also no difference between choosing Player or Banker, so players can simply choose either of the two main bets without sacrificing RTP.

8.0

RTP across all bet options (fact-based)

Player and Banker both return 98.87%, but the Tie bet has a lower theoretical RTP of approximately 95.52%. Evolution’s factsheet confirms the variable Tie payouts: 4:1, 6:1, 10:1, 25:1 and up to 88:1, depending on the tied total.

Despite the Tie being noticeably more expensive than Player or Banker, the difference is not extreme. The good thing is that Bac Bo only has three betting options, making it relatively easy for players to understand which bet offers the best value.

6.6

Max win and big prizes in practice (expert judgement)

The maximum payout in Bac Bo is 88:1, available on the rarest Tie results. This top result occurs roughly once every 648 rounds on average. Smaller Tie wins are much more common, but usually pay only 4:1 or 6:1.

The top prize is therefore achievable, but 88:1 is relatively modest compared with many modern live casino games.

7.2

Pace and depth (expert judgement).

Bac Bo has a fast and smooth pace, with little waiting between rounds. The staggered dice reveal also creates some tension, especially when the final die can change the result.

The downside is the limited depth. You can only bet on Player, Banker or Tie, with no strategy decisions or side bets. This makes the game easy and fast, but it can become repetitive during longer sessions.

5.5

Bonus rounds and features (expert judgement)

Bac Bo has no bonus rounds, multipliers or traditional side bets. Its main extra feature is the Tie bet, where the payout depends on the final total and can range from 4:1 to 88:1.

The staggered dice reveal adds tension to each round, but there are no special features that significantly change the gameplay or create occasional big moments.

8.8

Originality (expert judgement)

Bac Bo is a very original take on baccarat. Instead of cards, four automatic dice shakers determine the Player and Banker totals, combining the basic betting concept of baccarat with the excitement of a dice game.

The way the dice stop one by one is particularly clever, as it creates suspense before the final result. It is simple, but feels clearly different from both traditional baccarat and Sic Bo.

8.9

Interface controls (expert judgement)

Bac Bo has a clean and very easy-to-use interface. The three betting areas for Player, Banker and Tie are large and clearly separated, while the current scores are easy to follow as the dice stop. The interface also shows previous results and game statistics.

There is very little clutter, so even first-time players should have no trouble placing or changing their bets.

9.1

How well the game explains itself (expert judgement)

Bac Bo is extremely easy to understand. The Player and Banker totals are updated on screen after each die stops, so you always know what is happening and why a bet wins or loses. Evolution also clearly shows the different potential payouts for the Tie bet.

The rules are simple, but the interface also does a very good job of explaining the action.

8.7

Playing on mobile (expert judgement)

Bac Bo works very well on mobile. With only three main betting areas, the layout remains clear on a smaller screen and placing bets is easy. The dice and Player/Banker totals also remain easy to follow.

We found no important features missing compared with the desktop version, making Bac Bo particularly well suited to smartphone play.

8.7

Technical delays (fact-based)

Bac Bo is largely automated, with four individual dice shakers handling the results. This leaves little room for dealer errors or delays when reading the outcome.

We could not find reports of any recurring technical problems specific to Bac Bo in the reviews we checked. The game is generally described as smooth and stable.

8.2

Dealers (expert judgement)

The dealers are professional and clearly announce the action and results. Reviews also describe them as friendly and communicative, creating a relaxed atmosphere.

However, their role is quite limited. The dice shakers handle the actual gameplay, so the dealer mainly presents the game and interacts with players. There is less opportunity for dealer personality than in blackjack or a live game show.

8.3

Studio (expert judgement)

Bac Bo has an attractive Asian-inspired studio, with green and gold colours and the four dice shakers as the centrepiece. Reviews also praise the clean presentation and studio design.

The camera work keeps the dice and current scores easy to follow, while the studio is stylish without being too busy. It fits the simple nature of the game very well.

What is Bac Bo?

Bac Bo is a live dice game created by Evolution, the studio behind hits like Lightning Dice and Crazy Time. The game looks a lot like Baccarat, but instead of cards, both the Player and the Banker get their totals from two dice each.

What makes Bac Bo special is its speed and simplicity. There are no cards or shuffling shoes, only automatic dice shakers that keep the action moving. The game is also known for its Tie bet, which can pay up to 88:1, which is much higher than in standard Baccarat.

Compared to other Evolution games, Bac Bo is less flashy than Lightning Dice, but faster and more straightforward than Baccarat.

The objective of the game is to predict which hand will win by having the highest two-dice total. You can bet on Player, Banker, and Tie. Choose the amount you want to bet and place it on the outcome you expect that come.

The Game Begins

Game Begins

The four dice, two for the Banker and two for the Player, are shaken individually. Each die is placed in an individual shaker recessed into the gaming table which shakes automatically.

As you will soon learn, this is an exciting element of the game overall, since you can watch the dice being shaken, as the anticipation builds on where it will land.

Dice Are Shaken

Fourth step in playing Bac Bo live casino game
Dice Are Shaken

During the betting time, all dice start shaking at the same time but come to a stop at different times, adding to the anticipation and engagement and making the game far more exciting. The Player’s first die stops first, then the Banker’s first die.

At this point, you see who’s got the highest score. If, after the first shake, the Player has the highest value, the Player’s second die stops next. In the same manner, if after the first shake, the Player has the highest value, the Banker’s second die stops next. But if they were equal, the Player’s second die stops next.

Result and Payout

Fifth step in playing Bac Bo live casino game
Result and Payout

When all four dice have stopped shaking, the final result is displayed on the screen. The highest two-dice total wins. If the result is a Tie, there are several different payouts depending on the tied dice result.

For example, if the Player’s and Banker’s dice rolls both total 12 or 2, the payout on the Tie bet is 88:1. Other tie totals pay different odds from 4:1 upwards.

“This live game is a fun mix of Sic Bo and Baccarat.

It looks great, plays smoothly, and can pay up to 88 x your bet.

Results Explained

When all four dice stop shaking, the final round result is displayed on the screen. The winner is the highest two-dice total. Player and Banker Wins pay 1:1, but the Tie delivers different payouts, depending on the sum of the values of the two dice.

You get different payouts for a Tie, which depend on the two-dice roll result. If the game result is 6, 7, or 8, the payout you get is 4:1, but if 5 or 9, you get 6:1. 4 or 10 gives you a 10:1 payout, while 3 or 11 gives you 25:1. The best payout you could scoop is for a 12 or 2 game result, for which you get 88:1.

Tips & Strategies for Bac Bo

Bac Bo is a pure game of chance, so there is no strategy that can predict the next result or change the odds. Every roll is independent. However, you can make smarter choices about which bets you place and how you manage your money.

Stick to Player or Banker for the Best RTP

If you want the best mathematical value, Player and Banker are the strongest choices. Both have an RTP of 98.87%, so there is no advantage in choosing one over the other.

The Tie bet is more exciting because it can pay up to 88:1, but its RTP is lower at around 95.52%. I therefore see Tie as an occasional fun bet rather than the basis of a Bac Bo strategy.

Don’t Try to Predict Streaks

Bac Bo displays previous results through statistics and roadmaps such as the Bead Road and Big Road. I like following these because they make the game more engaging, but they cannot predict what happens next.

Five Banker wins in a row do not make a Player win more likely on the next round. The four dice have no memory of previous results.

Be Careful With the 88:1 Tie Payout

The 88:1 payout looks attractive, but remember how difficult it is to hit. It is only paid when both Player and Banker finish with a total of 2 or both finish with 12.

This happens approximately once every 648 rounds on average. Smaller Tie payouts occur more often, but most pay only 4:1 or 6:1.

Keep Your Bets Consistent

Because Bac Bo moves quickly, it is easy to place many bets in a short period. I prefer using relatively small, consistent stakes rather than increasing my bet after a loss.

Chasing losses or doubling your stake does not improve your chances. The next roll remains independent, regardless of what happened before.

My Bac Bo Strategy

My approach is simple: I mainly play Player or Banker because of the 98.87% RTP and occasionally add a small Tie bet for extra excitement. I still watch the roads and previous results, but only as part of the entertainment — not because I expect them to predict the next roll.

For me, that suits Bac Bo perfectly. It keeps the game simple, protects more of my bankroll from the higher house edge on Tie, and still gives me the occasional chance of a bigger payout.

Bac Bo vs Baccarat: What Is the Difference?

Bac Bo clearly takes inspiration from Baccarat, but the two games play very differently. Baccarat uses cards, while Bac Bo replaces them with four dice. Two dice determine the Player total, and two determine the Banker total. In Bac Bo, the highest total simply wins.

Traditional Baccarat is more complex. Player and Banker receive two cards and may receive a third according to fixed drawing rules. Card values are also different: tens and picture cards count as zero, and only the last digit of the total matters.

*Standard Baccarat Banker bets usually pay a 5% commission, resulting in an RTP of around 98.94%.

Bac Bo Is Easier to Understand

For beginners, I think Bac Bo is the easier game. You only need to add two dice together. There are no third-card rules or unusual card values to understand. The staggered dice reveal also makes Bac Bo surprisingly exciting. The dice stop one by one, so the final die can turn a losing position into a win or Tie.

Baccarat Offers More of the Traditional Casino Experience

Baccarat has a completely different atmosphere. Cards, dealers, the shoe, and the traditional Player and Banker hands make it feel more like a classic casino table game. Bac Bo removes most of that ceremony in favour of speed. There are no cards to deal and no shoe changes, so rounds follow each other quickly.

Which Game Has the Better RTP?

There is very little between them. Bac Bo offers 98.87% RTP on both Player and Banker, which makes choosing between the two very simple.

In standard Baccarat, Banker is normally the strongest bet with an RTP of around 98.94%, while Player is slightly lower at around 98.76%. The difference is small, but Baccarat’s Banker bet has a slight mathematical advantage over Bac Bo’s best bets.

Bac Bo or Baccarat: Which Do I Prefer?

I personally prefer Baccarat because I enjoy card games and the traditional live casino experience. However, Bac Bo is the game I would choose when I want something faster and easier.

Bac Bo’s biggest strengths are its simplicity, excellent 98.87% RTP, and exciting dice reveal. Baccarat offers a little more tradition and atmosphere. Neither requires real strategy, so the better choice mainly comes down to whether you prefer fast dice action or classic card gameplay.

Who Is Bac Bo Best Suited For?

Bac Bo is especially suitable for players who enjoy fast and simple live casino games. You do not need to learn complicated rules or strategies, and with only three betting options, you can understand the game within a few rounds.

Type of playerIs Bac Bo a good fit? Why?
Beginners⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Very simple rules and only three main bets
