What Is PowerUp Roulette?
PowerUp Roulette is a live casino roulette game with exciting extra multipliers. It is developed by the well-known provider Pragmatic Play. The idea of adding multipliers to roulette is not new. For example, other popular games with multipliers are Lightning Roulette, Diamond Rush Roulette, and Nexus Roulette.
However, PowerUp Roulette is different. The unique part is that every number receives a multiplier during the special PowerUp rounds. In total, the game has five PowerUp rounds. In each round, the multipliers keep getting higher.
This special feature is the main reason why many players, including myself, find PowerUp Roulette very engaging and fun to play. It gives a classic game of roulette a fresh and modern twist.
At its core, PowerUp Roulette is still regular roulette. It uses a European roulette wheel, which has only one zero. You can place all the usual bets, such as straight-up bets, splits, corners, and dozens.
The big difference comes with the PowerUp Bonus Rounds. These rounds can give you multipliers up to 8,000x your stake.
How to Play PowerUp Roulette?
Choose PowerUp Roulette

Go to an online casino that offers Pragmatic Play live casino games. Go to the live casino of this online casino. Once you click on the game in the lobby, you will be taken to the live studio of Pragmatic Play.
Here, a live dealer will present the game.
Enter the Live Studio

Pragmatic Play made a beautiful roulette studio. They used bright colours and the live dealers wear classy outfits. In the front, you see the roulette boiler, and in the back, you see a huge screen that’s used for the PowerUp Bonus Game.
Place Your Bets

At the bottom of your screen, you can pick the value of your betting chip. The game’s objective is to guess which number the roulette ball will end on.
You can place a bet on numerous options, but to get nominated for the bonus game, a straight-up bet is needed.
Ball Spins & Power Numbers Are Revealed

The live dealer spins the ball, and all bets are closed. In every game, three to five Power Numbers are randomly selected. If the ball ends in one of these Power Numbers, the Bonus game is activated.
The Power Up Bonus Game

In the Power Up Bonus Game, all 37 numbers are assigned a multiplier. These multipliers can vary from 25x up to a dazzling 2000x.
You don’t need a bet to enter the bonus game, but in the bonus game, you need a straight-up bet to be able to win a big multiplier.
“PowerUp Roulette is a must-try game.
I love the thrill when multipliers keep doubling in back to back PowerUp bonus rounds.”
PowerUP Bonus Rounds Explained
You qualify for the PowerUp Bonus Rounds when you place straight-up bets on single numbers. The round starts with you placing your bets as normal. Then, 3 to 5 PowerUp Numbers are revealed behind the roulette wheel.
When the ball lands on one of these PowerUp Numbers, the bonus round begins. The nice thing is that you are still part of the bonus game even if you did not bet directly on the PowerUp Number. The only condition is that you placed at least one straight-up bet in the base round.
In the bonus round, every number on the wheel gets a multiplier. In the first bonus round, the maximum multiplier equals 500x. New PowerUp Numbers also appear. Your straight-up bets from the regular round continue to play in the bonus round.
If the ball lands on a number you bet on, you win the payout with the multiplier. If the ball lands on another PowerUp Number, the bonus round goes to the next level, and the multipliers increase even more. This can continue for up to five rounds, with a maximum win of 8,000x your stake.
👉 Important to know: the straight-up bet in PowerUp Roulette pays 24:1 instead of the usual 35:1. This lower base payout makes sense because the game offers many chances to hit massive multipliers in the bonus rounds.

RTP of PowerUp Roulette
The RTP of PowerUp Roulette is about 97.30% for all bets except for the bets on single numbers (straight-up bets). This is the same as for normal European roulette. When betting on a single number, you get a bit lower RTP of 97.19% in exchange for the chance to win multipliers up to 8,000x your stake.
My Sessions of Playing PowerUp Roulette
To try this new Pragmatic Play Live Roulette game, I played a few sessions. Here is how I did.
First session
I placed a few straight-up bets across the wheel and waited for the PowerUp round. The first bonus triggered, and multipliers appeared between 50× and 500×. I hit a Power Number early and walked away with a neat payout. Just enough to cover my bets. All in all, a fun session. Started the session with €50 and ended with €78.
Second session
I balanced my bet: part on a straight-up number, part on outside bets like red or even. I didn’t hit a PowerUp bonus for a few rounds, but I could stay even by hitting a bet now and then and winning some outside bets. After about 15 rounds, I hit a 500× multiplier. That left me a nice profit. Started the round with €50 and ended with €137.
Third session
Played all numbers for a lot of rounds, had 2 PowerUps, but both times only a 25x. Lost 80% of my bankroll of €50 in 42 minutes.
PowerUP Roulette vs Lightning Roulette
Both PowerUP Roulette and Lightning Roulette build on the same idea: adding random multipliers to classic European Roulette. However, they take very different approaches to keeping players engaged.
Lightning Roulette keeps things simple. Before every spin, one to five Lightning Numbers receive multipliers of up to 500x. The game is fast, easy to understand, and has become the benchmark for multiplier roulette since its launch in 2018.
PowerUP Roulette adds much more depth. Instead of ending after a single multiplier spin, the PowerUP Bonus can continue through up to five consecutive bonus levels, increasing the potential payout to 15,525x. One feature we particularly like is that any Straight Up bet qualifies for the bonus, even if you didn’t bet on the PowerUP number that triggered it. That makes the feature feel more rewarding than Lightning Roulette’s bonus system.
PowerUP Roulette also has a slight RTP advantage on Straight Up bets (97.19% vs 97.10%), while both games offer the standard 97.30% RTP on most other bet types. Lightning Roulette, on the other hand, has the advantage of a quicker pace and a cleaner, more straightforward gameplay experience.
If you enjoy fast sessions with simple multiplier mechanics, Lightning Roulette remains an excellent choice. If you prefer more bonus action, higher winning potential, and a more innovative feature set, we believe PowerUP Roulette is the stronger game. It builds successfully on Evolution’s original concept and adds enough new ideas to create a genuinely different experience.
